Afternoon tea hosted by our supporters at St Thomas of Canterbury Parish Centre raised £338 for our funds. The  event featured Irish Bingo, auctioned goods, a raffle and duck-themed tombola! With sandwiches, snacks, cakes and jelly - tea at St Thom's is always a treat!

We had a stand at the Walsall WellBeing Festival where we asked you to "Confess Your Stress"!

What you told us...

Saturday 18th July 2009

Our thanks to everyone who visited our fundraising stall on Walsall Market. Bags of  bargains were sold and the amount raised was enough to  keep our service running for around five days - a fantastic achievement from this one event.

FRIDAY 12TH, SATURDAY 13TH JUNE 2009

A group of 20 or so climbers from National Grid, Accenture as well as friends and family, completed he famous hike up Snowdon to raise funds for both Samaritans of Walsall and District and the British Red Cross, raising money through sponsorship!Snowdon climbers

Climber Clair Richards writes: "The climb, well ….there was 27 of us from National Grid, Accenture as well as friends and family.  We had some glorious British sunshine to accompany us up to the peak and took a couple of routes up; the trodden and less technical, but by no means easy, pyg track to the top and for the more adventurous and crazy the less worn route that involved a number of challenging ridges, Crib Goch being one of them!

It involved a lot of collaborative team working to get everyone up to the top and back down safely and I’m glad to say that we all completed the climb successfully.  It took about 8 hours and approximately 27,000 steps.  It was far from easy and was very scary and challenging in places but everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day and all are recovering well from any aches, pains and sunburn! Many thanks to all who sponsored us."

SATURDAY 28TH FEBRUARY 2009

We raised £60.50 with our stall at the St Thomas of Canterbury Table Top Sale. Many thanks to everyone who made that possible.
