| Pool-A-Thon Saturday 24th November 2007 Kim Fox played a 5-hour pool Marathon to raise funds for Walsall Samaritans at The King Arthur pub, Liskeard Road, Park Hall, on Saturday 24th November, 2007. To add to the fun, Kim decided to play the entire evening in fancy dress, and her 'nurse' costume was a popular choice! After all, nurses are accustomed to spending a lot of time on their feet, aren't they? Listen to Kim, as featured on Smooth Radio News.
How did it raise money? Kim collected sponsors for playing the five hour marathon. Players who challenged Kim on the night also paid for the privilege! A special set of rules applied: The pub's licensee Nigel, and manager Barney, together with their staff and customers, as well as a group of Kim's supporters all made it an extremely enjoyable and successful night out.. A raffle held on the night raised £105, and pool players' "fees" together with a donation from Nigel came to nearly £400. The event raised over £600 all told!
